STRIKER FC DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY TEAMS IN A GROOVE!

The Striker FC U17-18 Development Academy team is quietly emerging as a potential Academy Playoff participant. With last weekend's 4 - 1 convincing win over the MLS Chivas Academy side, the team has run it's unbeaten streak to 6 games and is 7-1-2 in it's last ten games.

In the Chivas match, Cal bound Matt Chasman led off the scoring in the 16th minute converting a header off a nice cross from Juan Sanchez. Paul Salcedo then tallied the first of his two goals in the match by converting off a nice pass from newly rostered Cacey Macias just before the half (44th m). Yet another Cal bound player in Christian Thierjung then converted a PK to open the second half (48 m) to put the Strikers up 3 - 0 before Chivas could muster but a single goal in the 48th minute. Salcedo then completed his brace for the final match tally in the 78th minute.

The Strikers U15 -16 Development Academy team is also unbeated in it's last 4 games and fought valienty back each time they found themselves a goal down against Chivas to earn a 2 - 2 draw. Both Pablo Capetillo and Felipe Liborio tallied for the Strikers with Liborio now having scored a team leading 9 goals on the year.

Both teams travel to Arizona this weekend to face the MLS Real Salt Lake Academy sides.

In view of the recent circumstances, the entire Strikers FC Organization would like to assure our membership, and the soccer community as a whole, that we remain committed to our children and club membership. The safety and well being of our children is and has always been the top priority of our club as delineated in the Strikers FC Mission Statement.

Although disappointed by this current situation, we kindly request out of respect to all our members, that you allow the legal process to run it's course with the hope of a positive outcome for everyone associated with Strikers FC both past and present. You can assist us in this endeavor by continuing to positively focus , as we will, on your child's joy and fun of competing in this wonderful sport.

Just know that we remain steadfast in our commitment to develop our children from both a character and soccer perspective and will continue to strive to earn the faith and trust our parents have always come to expect of us as an organization. This would include at a minimum, continued background checks of all of our staff as required by Cal South, U.S. Soccer and U.S. Club Soccer as well as continuous counsel and mentoring of all of our staff in their interaction with minor children.

Meetings with both staff and parents will be established in the near future to address any concerns regarding this matter.

Please plan to arrive 15 - 20 minutes prior to your tryout time/respective park to pre-register as well as to allow plenty of time to find your team grouping and put on your cleats and shin-guards. Don't forget to bring your water!

The Strikers FC organization is a well establshed soccer program that has been a fixture in youth soccer for nearly 30 years. With a long established philosophy of emphasizing development over a match result, we take great pride in where our alumni have landed, be it at the National Team, Professional and/or College level. Many of our former players are now part of our coaching staff, further perpetuating this long standing philosophy of player development. We welcome any and all players that are interested in our program and that have the dedication and will to compete at the highest level.
